[mso] text in xp

Hi
 I just installed Windows XP Home edition on my computer  and I am finding 
that that screen text is way too small.  I have seen and  used other computers 
that have xp and their screen text came across easy to  read.
Is there a way I can change the main screen in xp to a larger  text?
 
And my main screen in AOL cannot be enlarged - so the screen  is about 5 1/2 
inches and the text at a 6.
Any suggestions?
