When I compose a new Email to this list it opens in HTML even though I =
have the "send plain text" setting checked in the contact in the address =
book. I don't use any stationary or backgrounds or formatted text when =
posting to this list. (except for my signature in which the formatting =
always strips out just fine). I "think" the =3D20 and 3D stuff comes =
from the way I have the page width set somewhere. I think those funny =
chars are from some kind of carriage returns. I seem to remember setting =
how many characters across the screen the message gets cut to. I TYPE =
straight across the screen, but Outlook cuts it when I send it. I don't =
like for people to read my messages from one side of the screen to the =
other.=20

In other words, I think something is wrong in the carriage return =
department and NOT in the HTML/Plain-Text department.

And BTW... it DOES bother me. I like things nice and neat thank you. LOL

Nope...didn't happen the way it used to in Outlook 2000

actually, now that I think of it, I don't think it DID happen in
2000.....I think I only got the prompt when I was sending mail out to
multiple recipients or a group and SOME of them had the plain text box
checked in my address book....now that I think back, what that prompt
was telling me was that some of the recipients were set to plain text
and did I want to set them all that way or something like that

but I really can't remember

bottom line is, Peter....becuz you use that lovely horse stationery,
even if Outlook IS converting it to plain text, I believe those weird
=3D20 things are the plain text conversion of that background graphic or
something

so....unfortunately, the only way for you to get rid of that, I believe,
is to go into Tools>Options>Mail Format and uncheck the box that is
telling Outlook to make that stationary your default email

but...like I said, the =3D20 stuff doesn't bother me if it doesn't =
bother
you :-)
