Thank you!! I saved it as word 2000 and then opened it on the problem =
PC. It
opened fine. Then I saved it on the problem PC in Word XP and again it
opened fine. Now the others that were having trouble are fine and
everything seems to be working again. What a strange problem.=20

Try
* File, New
* File, Page Setup [setup page layout like the problem file]
* Insert, File, [select file]

If that locks up Word, Try using one of the other stations
to save in Word 2000 format and open that on the problem PC.

If that doesn't work, find someone with Word 2000 and
ask them to open it. If it opens for them, ask then to:
* Open problem file (record page layout measurements)
* File, New
* File, Page Setup (duplicate page layout)
* Window, switch to problem file
* Edit, Select All
* Edit, Copy
* Window, switch to 'new' blank document
* Edit, Paste
* File, Save As, Word 2000 .DOC format
and try reading that into Word XP
No friend with Word 2k? Call around local service bureaus
or local libraries with terminal time.
