[mso] having a problem with Microsoft Word 2007 updating "fields"

I have a document built in Microsoft Word 2007.

It has fields that are supposed to automatically update when I select all
and use F9.

For example, these fields may be references to a page number or may be the
table of contents.

The document DOES update but the page numbers get wrong.

For example, the table of contents starts being wrong about page 21 when it
begins to think those parts are on page 22.

I'd be more than happy to provide a copy to anyone who wants the document to
tell me what is wrong.
