Julie,
Did you by chance accidentally hit the insert key on your keyboard? This
would have changed things so that you are replacing text instead of
inserting when you type (what most people see when this happens). In
addition, it can cause the results you are seeing.

Subject: [mso] backspace key troubleshooting

I have recently hit some key on my keyboard that has partially disabled my
backspace key when working in MS Word '02.

I can delete items with the backspace key and the delete key ok when the
word(s) are NOT highlighted (I'm not referring to "highlighting" as in
highlighting text with the "marker", but instead, highlighting as in taking
the mouse and selecting a word(s)), however...

When I highlight text I cannot delete it with the "backspace key", but the
"delete key" will work just fine.

If I try to highlight text and simply type a word that I wish to put in
placeof the original text, Word will simply enter the text to the left of
thehighlighted word(s), leaving the highlighted text that I wanted to
replaceit with on the page...it is never deleted.

Can someone HELP...this is driving me CRAZY!! I type on the computer for
most of the day &this problem is really getting in the way of my daily
productivity. The sooner I get this fixed, the better. Thank you so much
inadvance for helping me with this problem.

Sincerely,
