I assume you mean that the work area has significant margins on the sides.
That is how my Word 2003 opens.  If so, then perhaps what works in Word 2003
will work in 2007.  Open Word which should open with a blank document, click on
the Zoom (if it is called that in 2007) to increase the width as desired, then
save it as part of the default settings (in Word 2003 under File --> Page Setup
--> Default button), exit Word.

Is there a way to set or change the size of the work area in Word 2007?
This morning I opened it to create a document and was surprised to see
what I call the workspace significantly reduced. I opened a previously
saved document, and the work area was larger and easily readable.

What I saw this morning was like a miniature version of what I normally
see. The margins, default font, page layout, etc., all seem to be the same,
but the new document is much smaller when I look at it.

I'm not sure I'm explaining this very well, but if anyone has any idea what
I need to do to restore the previous settings when I open a new document,
I would appreciate your help.

Right now the only thing I know to do is open a document and save it under
a different name.

Thanks.

Teresa
