Hi James. As far as I know, there's no way to do this with the normal TOC setup. But, maybe Dian knows a way to work around it with special fields or something...if there IS a way to get the TOC to show expandable menus, it would be a nice thing I would like to learn also. The only way I know of to see an expandable/collapsible view like this is to go to View>Outline (not sure if that's what you want tho since the outline allows you to expand/collapse the heading styles within the document but not the ones in the TOC and the ones in the document aren't links) Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James LaBorde Sent: Friday, November 22, 2002 1:30 PM To: 'mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [mso] Word Question about Table of Contents Hello All, I am currently using the Style Settings to have Word create a table of Contents. It is getting a bit expansive though and I was wondering if there is a way to have Word show only the Heading 1 Titles until it is clicked on and then expand to show second and third level headings (preferably just the second and third level groupings in that section). I guess ideally I would like to make it look like a treeview structure in Windows Explorer, you see the root titles, click on one and it expands for you. Is this possible or am I just hoping for way too much out of Word?
