That sounds like a good plan, Norma. If you don't use Works, but just use Word, I believe it's that Addin that's causing the problem...but removing them all shouldn't hurt. And, yes, your steps at the end seem like good maintenance, but maybe overkill and not really necessary. And, I would skip the System File Checker...unless you really know what to replace and what not to replace, SFC can often replace newer files with older ones and cause problems...so I would skip that for now and see how everything else works. Good luck...report back. Several times I have thought of uninstalling the Works Suite but was not sure how to do it. The Works Suite is on the same CD with Word 2000 that came with my Gateway Computer, is that a problem if I ever have to re run Word 2000? I just went over to add/unistall and there are several items listed on my computer that have the word *Works* in them..So I want to be sure I don't mess up. Here is what is listed. Microsoft Works 2000 Microsoft Works 2000 Setup Launcher Word in Works Suite Add-in Am I safe to uninstall all three of the above or did I understand that I only have to remove Word in Works Suite Add-in? Just want to be sure. After I uninstall all three or just Add-in should I do the following to make sure my computer is clean? 1.Do a complete Disk Scan 2.Defrag 3.Delete all Temp files 4.System file checker 5.Run Dr. Watson 6.Run Norton's Anti Virus Scan 7.Re Start my computer Awaiting your expertise (((Hugs))) Norma ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
