I doubt it its from the list, since I am late from this threat, if you
paste the header info, we or anyon of us can track the source and to
assure or tell you how to determine the source of e-mail the next time.

Linda, it apparently did get through, as I got it also, but Norton
caught
it. I was wondering about the attachment got through since I was pretty
sure this group didn't accept attachments.

I wish these folks would do something constructive with their abilities.

I don't know if any of you received two emails just before this one that
had Pivot Table subjects and appeared to come from me, but they had the
W32bugbear virus in them. I assure you that they were not sent by me.

This virus gets into someone's computer and grabs an unread email and
attaches itself to it, then grabs an email address from the person's
addressbook and sends it to others in the address book and cloaks itself
so it appears to come from the address it grabbed, instead of the actual
person who sent it.

Someone has old mso mail sitting in their inbox unread and has now
gotten them a virus and is sending it to all of us (unless I'm the only
one who got it?) Anyway, if that person didn't read the pivot table
mail, they probably aren't reading this either, so my purpose is not to
figure out who sent it, but to alert the rest of you not to open any
attachments that you EVER receive from this group cuz this group does
not allow attachments so anything like this that you see is DEFINITELY a
virus.

Norton caught it here.....if your AV program did not catch it, I would
highly recommend that you do a complete virus scan of your computer to
make sure you are clean.

How the heck did this get thru tho, I wonder, since freelists does not
allow attachments. Anyway....this one did NOT come from me and I just
wanted to let you know.

Anyone who wants to know how these worms work can read this article I
wrote in my newsletter about this:
