Hi Carolyn. Yes, this is the right group to ask Outlook questions (but not
Outlook EXPRESS questions, since that's not part of Office)

If you have Office 2003, then you have Outlook 2003 ;-)

Now, onto your questions:

1. I believe what you are referrring to is your "Reading Pane", which is
where the message appears on the right side of your screen. The only way I
know of to make it wider permanently, is to display it at the bottom of your
screen instead of on the right. To do this, click on your View menu at the
top of your Inbox (NOT inside an email)....go down to Reading Pane, and
choose "Bottom". This will change it in your Inbox...if you have other
folders, you can do the same thing inside them.

2. Click on your Contacts at the bottom of your Navigation Pane, on the
left side of your Inbox. You will see all the contacts you have in there.
RIGHT click on anyone you don't want and choose Delete.

welcome

Subject: [mso] Two Outlook questions - is this the right place?

First, if I have stepped into the wrong site for my Outlook questions, I
apologize. And if someone will tell me where to go (now, now, you know what
I mean!) I'll go there and not bother you again on this.

I have a brand new Gateway laptop with Windows XP and Office 2003, so
whatever version of Outlook that came with that is the one I have! Ha! Also
- I am a classic end-user, not a programmer nor even particularly savvy on
dealing with files and utilities and such. Sorry. So, if you can assist me,
please be REALLY specific with the steps, what to click, etc. Case in point
- I wanted to install a new mouse on my older desktop PC - not the laptop.
The instructions said, and I promise this is true: "1. Run CD. 2. Install
mouse." Well, THANK you, Logitech! That tells me exactly NOTHING!

So, here goes.

My two Outlook questions are:

1. How can I make message part of the Inbox panel larger? Or make the other
panels smaller? (I'm not talking about using the cursor bars to temporarily
increase/decrease the panel size. I can do that. I'm talking about the
actual text part of the window, which is on the right side of the screen.) I
have to scroll back and forth from left to right to read the complete text
of the message. This is a big pain.

2. I accidentally responded to a friend's email with Reply All. Now I have
a whole bunch of strangers listed in my Contacts list. It appears that they
are not accessible so I can delete them, but they are living in there,
somewhere. They are NOT in the address book. I can't find them to get rid of
them! Any clues?

Thanks for your help.
