In Windows on Menu Bar, select Arrange All if you have version 2002 like me. If they open horizontally, try Right Click on your Task Bar and select Arrange Vertically? Offhand I don't remember the details in Office 2K or 2003 - routine is not dissimilar although not the same throughout all versions.
