Hi,

Try using the following:

Go to start menu then run and type in winword.exe /a then click on the ok
button and see if word comes up normally. You may have a corrupted template
or add-in and this should help in some way determine that.

Paul.

Subject: [mso] Sudden problem opening Word 2000

Dear list members,

I have begun having problems each time I open Word 2000. I receive the
following message:
Documents & Settings\dt2\Applications Data\Microsoft\Add-ins\C:\Program
Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeaking\Program\dgnword.dll is not a valid Office
Add-in.

I then click OK, and Word does open. I have tried searching in the
indicated locations, and, yes, there is such a DLL, but I cannot in anyway
see that it has been made a Word add-in. I should mention one unusual event
that I believe preceded the beginning of this behavior. One day my Word
documents no longer at the word icon Windows Explorer; a WordPad icon had
come instead. They still have the doc-extension, and when I double-click
sound , they still open in Word. Also, no matter what I do I cannot get back
Word icon. I do not know whether this is relevant to the problem of opening
Word.

Do you think this is fixable, or should I uninstall Word and reinstall it?

  TIA
  Daniel Teague
