Hi Ray,

Just to recap. At the time the code worked, it was stored in the normal.dot
template along with the shortcut. For reasons too numerous to go into, I had to
delete and recreate the same macro (with identical code and shortcut) all over
again. This is where I presently stand. I have the macro stored in Normal.dot;
the code also stored in Normal.dot; and the VBA code saved in the same
template. For reasons I am not understanding, the shortcut key doesn't appear
to work when the document is protected. It did the first time round when the
macro was created.

I appreciate all your help.

Regards,

Rajiv

You seem to be saying it just doesn't run now it's stored in the
template rather than the document. Have you assigned the keyboard
shortcut to the template or just moved the code there.

Hi Ray and anyone else who might help..

I am calling the macro from a keystroke. In unprotected mode, the macro
launches fine (it used to launch properly when the Word form was
protected also using the same code) so I don't think it is the VBA code.

Any quick ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks very much for your help.

Rajiv

What do you mean by "It doesn't work"? Do you get an error message of
any kind? How are you calling the macro?

Subject: [mso] Still Requiring Help with a Word Macro

Hi,

I truly apologize for resending this message, but I seem to be going
round circles with this particular macro.

I have created (or rather modified) a Word 2000 macro for running the
spell checker in a protected Word form. (I am also not a VBA
expert--just learned a little several days ago for this task. It worked
one time, but I can't get it to work agin. I have attached it to the
Normal.dot template.

For your reference, I have attached the code below. Any help would be
appreciated at the earliest. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rajiv
