Hi Linda That "not sure exactly what you want" got me too, until I realised, I think, from his second message where layout is still not good, that: His letters C and D and the numbers he uses do not refer respectively to Excel columns and rows, but vice versa, i.e. his C1 is Excel Cell Ref A1, his C2 is Excel Cell Ref B1, his C3 Excel Cell Ref C1, etc. THEN, he wants his "C" data (a number between 1 and 20) to go into his "D" column corresponding to that letter of the alphabet, i.e. 2, 4, 5, 7 in his first row will go into Excel Cell Refs B1, D1, E1, G1. Isn't that right, Adri? -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda F. Which you want where would affect the formula. Read my tutorial on VLOOKUPs here. It should do what you want: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=446 Linda F. I have the following problem. I want to copy for each ticket the numbers in the columns C1 thru C4=20 into the matching columns D1 thru D9. So I can see the spread of the numbers. ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line.
