Hi Joel, This error occurs after I receive (through no effort of my own) an pop-up window that says I have updates that need to be installed. The installation process starts and after a minute or two, then I get the error. Does that help? If you haven't saved the installation files, MS Office updates will not work unless you put in a disc from the same exact version. If that's OEM Small Business XP with MS Publisher, then that's the disc you'll need. If it's Office 2000 retail Student and Teacher Edition, then that's the disc you'll need. If you are using the correct disc, then you might have to completely uninstall and reinstall Office. But of all the Office Update problems I've seen, I haven't seen that error message unless the disc was from the wrong version. Now that I think about it, the PROPLUS.MSI file sounds like it's from the Office 2007 Beta, because that's the only version that has a Professional Plus edition. I take it you don't have the 2007 Professional Plus beta edition installed? In that case, you might be trying to install the wrong update. Did you get the update from visiting the Microsoft update site (available from Windows Update)? Or did you go to the Office home page and run automatic updates from there? If you can answer those questions, I should be able to help you further. Joel Hello - I have problem: when I receive 'update' downloads from MS, I click on the box and it attempts to upgrade my MSOffice until I get a window that pops up asking for the PROPLUS.MSI file and wants to search my CD. I put the CD in and it's not there. 1. I've searched the CD and it's not on there 2. I've searched my PC and it's not on there 3. When I search the web, it's very complicated and there are lots of different answers.... What can I do to fix this? Thanks Gaynel Indiana -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
