Huh, Greg? I'm using Outlook 2002 and I don't have any Work with Headers Toolbar in my Tools>Send/Receive I don't believe I've ever seen anything resembling "work with headers toolbar" in any versions of Outlook I've ever used. Does anyone else have this in their Tools>Send/Receive? All I have is Send All and Send/Receive All. I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this in here before but Outlook does (and has had) a way to take care of this problem since before it was called Outlook. I might also add that the problem described here is probably unique to Outlook since I've checked it against the server and the identifier in use (MessageID) is being maintained properly on the server when this happens. Looks like Outlook itself may, at times, have trouble keeping track of MessageID fields for one reason or another. Anyway, here's a way to manage the message store on the server directly without having to leave Outlook! All the following actions are taking place under the Tools->Send/Receive->Work With Headers toolbar selections. 1. Choose "Download Headers From" and select the account you're interested in 2. When the headers arrive, select the message you're interested in, right click it and choose from Mark to Download, Mark to Download Copy or Delete (Delete in this case) 3. Back at the Tool menu again, navigate to Process Marked Headers 4. In the message pane, the special icon will change for the message or the message and headers will diappear altogether if you chose to Delete. If you check the server directly, you can verify that the deletion did in fact take place (but you'd only do this to satisfy your own curiosity.<g>) This should clear the message from the server. Note that the menu Option to "Work With Headers" has had a couple other names in previous versions but it is still there if you're in Internet mode. It might be there if you're in Workgroup mode but I can't prove it.<g> Greg Chapman http://www.mousetrax.com ************************************************************* You are receiving this mail because you subscribed to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or MicrosoftOffice@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To send mail to the group, simply address it to mso@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To Unsubscribe from this group, send an email to mso-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?Subject=unsubscribe Or, visit the group's homepage and use the dropdown menu.
