Are you using Rich Text format? If so, that's why. Rich Text is only
compatible with Outlook..not other email programs. Switch to plain text or
html.
If that's not it, there is a bug in 2002 where this happens occasionally.
Usually a reboot fixes it. If not, be sure you have all the updates from
Microsoft.
If none of that works, do a full virus scan NOW.
