Yes, I've had the same problem. I found a fix at: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q259416 It involves editing a Registry Key. It has been quite awhile since I did it and I seem to remember that the article and the Registry Key didn't match exactly but changing it resolved the problem. You are much appreciated! Bought hubby a new computer for Hanukah. It has XP Home on it, 512 megs ram, and I installed his Office 2000 suite that he had used on old Win 98 system. Install, everthing went very well, with no error messages. Got all his data (outlook.pst) over to the new XP machine. The only problem we are having is that Outlook will NOT save his email password. He is the second email address under my account, so it logs onto the server fine. But when he goes to <send/receive> to download his email in Outlook, it pops up a box asking him to input his password. I have checked his account and it is identical to the setup for the old one, and have checked all the boxes to "remember password". Even after editing his account from the menu bar, by adding in the password and checking the "remember password" box. I close it out, and upon reopening, the checkmark is there, but the password field is totally blank. (I did call and get the software registered on the new machine with new ID #) I did look at the update site, and see that there are a couple of service pack updates for the 2000 suite. Is anyone familiar with this? This was not a problem on his old 98 system..
