Gene,

AVG is often quite slow in loading itself... I've certainly experienced it
slowing down Outlook's (2003) loading process.
Interesting that this happened to me even when AVG email scanning was turned
off. Apparently, it still loads the email scanning module even when it's not
required... :-(

Regards

Nope its 2003 and if there is or was a update I have just let it update!
But you
are probably right I bet it's the Firewall or AVG keeping it from working??
It's
funny one computer works just as it should this one must wait? Guess its
slow as I
am maybe? But I also would think that AVG was all ready loaded and the
firewall
also? But it must not be loading them in the right order or something like
that?
It's not a big problem just should do better <g>

Thanks for the clue

Gene

Sounds like Outlook is trying to get the mail before it's fully made the
connection to the server. I've seen this many times in older versions of
Outlook, but not in Outlook 2003....since you say "all updates", I'm
wondering if you mean Outlook 2002, since I don't think there ARE any
updates to 2003 yet...or are there?

If you have any third party software installed (including AV software or
anti-spam software that may have to load when you start Outlook), this could
be slowing down Outlook's launch and therefore it is out of sync with the
server...that's why it works if you wait a couple minutes and try again
