We have done that. It defaults to being on again the next time you
start the machine. Is there a way to make it default to the "off"
position instead of on? Also, do you know a registry fix we can use?

Hi,
Does anyone know a registry tweak or some other way to turn off the
voice recognition software in Office XP? We have one client who has to
turn off the microphone a million times a day. It often starts up
suddenly without provocation, so she'll get on a phone call and suddenly
everything she says starts popping up in the middle of a document she is
working on. Very frustrating indeed!
