It's not normally a problem Lisa - although in most cases, you would install
the older version first (a custom install, leaving out Word), and then the
Word 2002.

However, you should be able to install O2000 as a custom install without any
real problems.
Don't forget to patch O2000 once it's installed.

Oh, and BTW, you'll LOVE Office 2003, it's a very sweet suite! ;-)

     :
     :Hi all!
:I am the proud owner of a new desktop!! It's 2.6 GHz and
     :has *lots* of ports
:for all sorts of things I haven't got but I'm very
     :pleased with it. It's
:much faster than my normal 350MHz one.
     :
:Howerver... It came with works suite 2002 or something
     :and a bunch of othwer
:software. It has Word 2002 on it.
     :
:What I would like is to keep that word 2002 and install
     :office 2000 as well
:so that I can "decommision" the 350. I'm quite happy with
     :office 2000 and
:though I'm thinking of upgrading it will most likely be
     :to office 2003 with
     :the really new features.
     :
:Meanwhile.... Does anyone have experience of installing
     :and running office
:2000 on a system that has word 2002 on it and having the
     :two coexisting on
     :the same machine please?
     :
     :Lisa
