I have computer messed up OS-wise. This lady had (past tense) Windows
98SE and prefers that. Her grandchildren in effort to help her
apparently put in Windows ME, and someone tried to install an upgrade to
Windows XP.
All three versions look like they are on the hard drive, but it will not
boot.
Can I connect her hard drive to another computer (perhaps as drive D or
E), and manually delete the Windows ME and Windows XP? Will doing so
restore her Windows 98SE? I am not sure what to do- I am hindered by the
fact she does not want to lose her family pictures, so a reformat is not
my preferred choice. Do I have another choice? I don't know anything
about the registry and I need to take that into consideration.
Thank you.
Robert
