Don,
It sounds as if you have saved the document as a Template (.dot) instead of
as a Document (.doc). You may have hit the down arrow on the File Type box
and selected (.dot) by mistake. Try resaving the file with the same name in
the same place, making sure that the File Type says '.doc'.
