 I probably went over board on most of it, but I didn't want to have to
remember what I did when I set it up. and I couldn't quite figure out how to
get it to give me a running total MPG, but that would be fluff and I didn't
think it was worth all the trouble (for me) at the time.
I don't know if there is a place I could upload my file, but with all the
security concerns, I can under stand why there might not be a place. Anyway
what I have across the top is;

Date | Odometer Previous | Odometer Now | Fuel Bought/Gallons | Cost | Cost
per Gallon | Total Miles | Total Gallons | Total Cost | Average Cost Per
Gallon | MPG

My formulas start under (I do have the top 2 row of cells frozen), with the
formulas in the second row, except the ones for MPG, and those go down that
row.
Total Miles  =SUM(G4:G200)
Total Gallons    =SUM(D3:D200)
Total Cost      =SUM(E2:E200)
Average Cost Per Gallon     =AVERAGE(F2:F200)
MPG     =(G3/D3)

I hope it makes some since to you, because just looking at it this way is
totally confusing to me. Go figure, but I don't work with it everyday, just
once in a while when I need something new and can't find it on the web.
