In the design view of the form, in properties, you can set the shortcut
menu to no for each form you want to lock. You can also set up custom
toolbars and control which ones open with each form, and even to the level
of the database startup by setting toolbars/menus properties in the
startup menu - tools/startup.
I am not that familiar with all that's involved on that side because I use
..mde's and distribute via batch files, but am sure someone can provide
more assistance along those lines. My personal favorite way to lock down
a form design is to distribute a .mde version of the database. That way
the code and design is inaccessible to anyone. The main .mdb version is
kept for development/updates, etc., and the .mde is created via
tools/database utilities/make .mde.

[mso] Locking form designs

Hi folks,
Great group, I learn a lot of neat stuff from you people.
Question:
I use Access 2000 and thought there was a way to set the properties on a
form so that the user could not access the "Form Design" mode by right
clicking and selecting from the drop down list. When locked, right
clicking the mouse has no effect. I have an older form that is set up
this way but I can't figure out for the life of me how I did it. Getting
old I guess.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for all the help

Ron
