A lot of people are getting emails that appear to be from
newsletter.microsoft.com with URLs that reference a lot of go.microsoft.com
links. I've had a bunch of people ask me today if these "Actions for Blaster
Worm" alerts are legit. So forgive the OT here, but I just wanted to let you
know that I have checked with Microsoft and yes, they are legit.

You can also verify them by clicking View/Options in Outlook and checking
the header. You'll see that the originating IPs are usually something like:
207.46.248.66. And by checking that IP with ARIN (IP registry www.arin.net)
you'll see that IP is registered to MS...they are legit.

So if you click any of those URLs in those emails, they do really go to
details to help you patch your system to avoid getting hit with the
virus...that is, if you didn't do it a couple weeks ago when I originally
warned you!<smile>

Just remember...Microsoft NEVER sends out fixes as ATTACHMENTS! So NEVER
click on any attachment from an email that looks like it's from MS...no
matter HOW legit it looks. Those are bogus virus emails from hackers
attempting to spoof MS to cause havoc!

Good luck...(and now back to our regularly scheduled program!)
