Diane,

You have the option in Word to center the graphic vertically with the line
of text.  Here's how:

1.  Right-click the graphic after inserting it in your document

2.  Choose Format Picture from the resulting quick menu.

3.  Select the Layout tab.

4.  Select either the Square or Tight option.

5.  Click the Advanced button in the bottom right of the dialog box.

6.  Make sure the Pictur Position tab is selected and click the Vertical
Alignment radio button.

7.  In the 2 fields to the right, choose Centered relative to Line.

8.  Select the Text Wrapping tab and choose where you want the text in
relation the the graphic.

9.  Click OK and then OK again to exit back to your document.
