Ok...I'm sitting here, guzzling coffee, waiting for the limo to arrive to
take me to the airport and I only have my main computer turned on which is
running Word 2003, so I can't remember the choices I had in Wordd 2002, in
File>Save As...but I'm sure there was a Word 95 option in there...in Word
2003, I have "Word 97-2003,6.0/95 RTF (*.doc)" so I'm sure you must have
SOMETHING in there that says "95", but I can't remember how it's worded....I
believe this would be a better choice than html...you know how bad Word is
at html!!

Heading off on my daylong journey....this may be my last post for a while,
but I'll try to keep an eye on things :-)

Subject: [mso] Exporting Word to Older Formats

Hi Group,

A friend wants to update a Word file I sent him. His version is Word95, and
my version is Word 2002, therefore, he can't even open the document I sent.
As a second try, I re-saved the document in Rich Text Format, and sent that
to
him. While I await his report, I am wondering if there is a better way to
make a word 2002 document editable by a user who is running Word95.

Another idea I had (but haven't acted on yet) is to upload it to a website
as
a web page with the idea that he could then capture it from the web, and
then
strip out the HTML coding.

The document doesn't contain a lot of fancy formatting or tables or
graphics,
but it does have headers and footers with pagination.

Thanks for the advice.

Ray Shapp
