Could be due to a corrupted workbook. To verify this, you can open a new workbook and copy each sheet of the old one to it, by right clicking on the sheet tabs and using the move-create a copy option, and then rename the old workbook to something else, and the new one to the previous name of the old one. Then reset any links of the new one to itself. Test the new workbook. If the workbook is corrupted, many times this will work.
