I am wondering if the "numbers" which were pasted in from HTML are really text (even though you have formatted the cells as Number). If you can change the number of decimals or format as currency, for example, then they must be numeric. If using those formats doesn't work, then they are not. Often a likely cause of this is a space somewhere in the cell. Try inserting a new column and using the functions VALUE and TRIM to give you the numbers as numbers. (If your pasted data is in A1, the formulae would be =VALUE(TRIM(A1)) .) If that works, then select all of the column with real numbers in, Copy it and use Paste Special to paste the numbers back in. Then delete the column with spurious numbers. Andrew Kendon --- "Jamshed F. Mehta" <roameri@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > 1. I have opened a new blank Workbook, say "X". > 2.
