The format that everyone would like us to keep is YYYY-Q, and I tried to enter as "yyyy-MM" but it does not work the same. I will give what you said a shot. Thank you for your assistance. The first is with a lookup table, and you can find an article on my site here to get you started with this: http://www.grbps.com/raq1.htm Or, you could use the CHOOSE worksheet command - more details here: http://www.grbps.com/ExcelA.pdf (On the third page of that article is the exact construction you need.) But I'm curious as to why a simple cell format won't do the trick for you (Format-Cells-Date and time and enter "yyyy-MM".) I need a method of converting this date into the format yyyy-mm. I know that I can use the following formula: =TEXT(B11,"yyyy")&IF(MONTH(B11)=1,"-01",IF(MONTH(B11)=2,"-02",IF(MONTH(B 11)= 3,"-03",IF(MONTH(B11)=4,"-04")))) where B11 is the location of the original date, but I run out of arguments after the fourth IF. What method would allow all 12 months to be returned? I cannot change the original report, and I need the new format for pivot table options. Thank you for your help.
