I tried to apply DHTML to some text in FP2000 by selecting Format >
Dynamic HTML Effects, then choosing "On page load", "wipe effect". It
previewed fine but when uploaded does not work when I go to the site using
IE 6. I tried using different DHTML options (such as "On click" rather
than "on page load"), but it still didn't work.

Any hints about where to start troubleshooting? I did check Tools > Page
Options > Compatibility and ensured I had DHTML enabled.

 Thanks for any help.
