Now for a technical solution, have you looked at Excel's grouping and
outline features? It might make tracking easier to do AFTER you get the
labels made.

I did not know Excel had outline features! Even my "Beginning Spreadsheets"
book does not mention that. Where can I go to read on it please?
Depending on the size of the dots you mentioned, they might be too large.
How big are they and will they stick to the spine of the folder without
peeling?
