Hi Robert, Ray and all.

I tried Rays, answer but got a function error, so I tried a couple of
experiments and ended up with kind of a solution

Column A is Year (1855, 1855)
Column B is Month (Apr, Jan)
Column C is Day (15, 15)

Discovered that nothing seems to work on years prior to 1900

I changed Column A to 1955, 1955

I used the DATE function to get Year, Month, Day and discovered all
values must be numeric

I changed Column B to 4, 1

THEN, using the DATE function, I got the desired value to display. I
copied values to another cell, formatted that value as desired then used
Sort/Options/First Key Sort Order to get the desired sort.

Hope this helps. /g

Robert,

In a new column (let's say E) and fill it like this:

Cell E1:
=3DTEXT(D1)

Sort on this new column and that should solve the problem.
