Hi April....I got this question from you about four times...twice here and
twice privately...LOL

I replied to you privately...but I'll copy it here so the rest of the group
can see what I said and add any other comments since I'm really busy here
and don't want to leave you hanging:
__________________________

Don't copy it to a new sheet....copy it to the same sheet, in a different
location....don't copy it in place cuz it leaves the extra ones there,
that's why you still have 10,273

And I can't imagine why you thought it came from Vic...since my signature is
on it (not to mention the fact that Vic doesn't know anything about
Excel...LOL)

Take care.

I saved this comment from an old email in case I ever needed it ... and now
I do, but I can't seem to get it to work right. I don't know if this came
from Vic or Linda, that is why I cc you both... I have an excel list of name
and addresses... 10,273 to be
exact... when I tried this it tells me that it filtered it down to 9919, but
it is showing all 10,273 names.... When I try to get it to copy to a new
sheet it wont do it... can anybody please help me???? April

OK....I'm feeling generous here.....to delete duplicates, highlight all the
data, the go to the Data menu and choose Filter>Advanced Filter.....choose
whether you want to filter the list in place or put your new list in a new
location....then put a check in the box that says "Unique Records
Only"....this will get rid of all the *exact* dups.

Linda
