Use Insert > Field and then choose the appropriate DATE field you need,
which allows you to make the modifications to the date that you need.

  Hi there,

 

I have a macro that auto formats every Word document that I have.

In the older version of Word, when I auto-dated the document, the date had
dashes.  

This newer version of Word does not show a format with dashes (-).

I am doing this under Insert/Date & Time.  I 

 

Is there a way to auto date a document with the dashes instead of the
slashes or periods?
