Hi All.
James and Ray, among others, were helping me work out the details of
doing a front end-back end set up.

What I have is a database that will download daily to our network.
Today's file named DB411.mdb will be renamed tomorrow as
DB411_07222004.mdb and tomorrows download will be named DB411.mdb. This
is a manual process until I can figure out how to automate.

Hope that makes sense.

So, I need my end-user database called BaseData to link to the file
named DB411.mdb and the links to refresh daily after the manual
renaming.

Then I have a series of make-tables to extract data I need in the right
column order and column names to use in my daily processing of records.
This is automated on a form button linked to a macro. "Click here to
refresh the data" - - - "Thank you for waiting. The data is now
current."

The make-tables are simply to get new tables with the table names the
rest of my processing (queries, reports and exports) is used to.

If this is all making sense, does it seem I'm doing it right or...maybe
missing a step? I feel very uncertain about this so looking for advice.

/g
