Online defragmentation does not reduce the size of .stm and .edb files. To
reduce the size of the EDB and STM you need to perform an offline defrag,
this will reduce the size of the EDB & STM down substantially removing all
white space exists.

if you use the following command
eseutil /d "c:\program files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb" it will defrag and
reduce the size of the EDB and STM file.
