George and Ernie were the first Tigers radio broadcasters I remember.
I didn’t follow the Lions until much later, so I don’t recall Van Patrick at
all.

You are right Marcia! Actually my introduction to the Tigers came via
listening to Ernie and George on the radio. I was only about 7 or 8 years old
at that time so I didn't really understand the game nearly as much as I do now
as I was learning while listening. I have not been able to ever find a
recording of those 2 on the radio, nor have I found any recordings of Van
Patrick who I figure must have been quite good as well. Of course I enjoyed
Van on the Lions games for a number of years.
