Join Us This Evening at 5:30 for a Food Preservation Workshop: Margaret
Christie, CISA’s special projects director, will present an "Introduction to
Food Preservation" at Mountain View Farm on Thursday, September 17, from 5:30
to 7pm. For the past 18 years, Margaret has been putting food by for her
family. She'll use that personal experience to help you start -- or expand --
your food preservation and will provide you with resources for learning more.
She'll describe her methods of canning, freezing, and drying fruits and
vegetables. Margaret is frequently asked about food preservation methods and
options - even the New York Times has sought out her expertise. Margaret's
pantry was featured in the Spring 2009 edition of Edible Pioneer Valley and her
recent food preservation seminar at River Valley Market received rave reviews.
We'll be outside if the weather cooperates or inside the barn if it doesn't.
