There’s much more at my Blog. Just follow this link: www.frpat.com/mayoblog W E A S K Y O U R P R A Y E R S P L E A S E This morning a 15-year-old child from our Parish didn’t wake up. Please keep him, his family, including his parents, brother and sister ... and his many friends in your prayers during this brutally difficult time. Pray for the students of our own Saint Patrick School where his sister is in 5th Grade, and the students, faculty and staff at Onalaska High School where he was a student. I plan to return to Onalaska on Friday for his Funeral. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen. __________________________________________________ .=: S A I N T O F T H E D A Y :=. Blessed Anthony Grassi (1592-1671) Anthony’s father died when his son was only 10 years old, but the young lad inherited his father’s devotion to Our Lady of Loreto. As a schoolboy he frequented the local church of the Oratorian Fathers, joining the religious order when he was 17. This is the name they give him: “The LORD our justice.” ~Jeremiah 23:5-8 Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever. ~Psalm 72 When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named him Jesus. ~Matthew 1:18-25 .=: M E D I T A T I O N O F T H E D A Y :=. Sometimes God calls us to do incredible things. Mary was asked, as an umarried teenager, to bear the Son of God Himself. Joseph was asked to marry a pregnant teenage girl. He knew he was not the Father. Yet they said “Yes” to God. As Messiah, Jesus was asked to do incredible things too. All of them followed God’s call because they loved God. Jesus would give His life on the Cross for our salvation. We can be ready to hear God’s call in our own lives … and to know that saying “Yes” probably will not cost us as much as it did Mary, Joseph and Jesus Himself. Yet the reward is everlasting life! .=: P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y :=. I pray that I may listen to God’s call in my life. I pray that I may respond by saying “Yes,” because of my love for God. We pray for the justice that leads to lasting peace, and for the willingness to stand up for and defend life. We pray for all those being called to Church vocations, that they may be willing to respond generously. Keep me in your prayers and know you are remembered in mine as well. May God continue to bless you and those you love, and keep you safe!
