When you are looking at any register, use the left and right arrow keys to navigate column to column. Each column has a hot key as well, to jump to it immediately.
From the documentation: Moving Directly to a ColumnWhile it is possible to move from column to column (with the arrow keys) in the register , Money Talks also lets you move directly to any column. Use the table below for
each key. Shift+A Amount Shift+P Pay Name Shift+D Date Shift+I Item Shift+M Memo Shift+C Category Shift+S Subcategory Shift+X Status Shift+B BalanceAlso, while you are entering data into the program, you can simply tab and shift-tab between any of the available columns and buttons that are available while entering data.

Steve How do I get to the category column? Yes. You are able to delete a category or subcategory.Go the the category or subcategory column, press enter to open the list of choices. Then highlight the category or subcategory you want to remove. Press alt-d.You can do all this at one time. Once you are in the category list, just continue to find the categories you don't want and press alt-d on each of them. Remember if you do delete a category item, all of it's subcategories will be removed as wwell. If you delete a subcategory, the main category item will not be deleted.Do remember that you can quickly jump to a given category or subcategory in the list by typing a letter or two of the name of the category or subcategory, then hitting down arrow. You don't have to repeatedly hit the down arrow key to find the cat or subcat from the top of the list. This is also true for finding payer andpayee names, and items in the items list.If you have any further questions, do ask. People here will be glad to help.Best, Steve----- Original Message ----- From: "Albert Sanchez" <albertsanchez@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <moneytalks@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, November 05, 2009 2:01 PM Subject: [moneytalks] Category and sub-category questionHello ListI just received my MoneyTalks software a week ago and, so far, I am extremely pleased with the program. I do, however have a question regarding adding and/or deleting categories and sub-categories. I understand how to add "cat" and "sub-cat" but is it possible to delete some of those categories that will never be used?Bye For Now, A.S.
