Fellow Lions and Friends:
Lion Leaders Weekend is swiftly approaching...currently we have many, many
openings for attendees. I know our Lions are the world's worst to wait until
the last minute, but if you are planning to attend, we need your reservation
soon.
Look below for your name and names from your club and others in your area. I'm
certain we'll get more attendees before April 15, but as you can see, we're
very short on attendees at this time. We are limited to 100 total attendees,
hosts and guests and we may be tight on hotel reservations at the Holiday Inn
Express. We'll also have to plan meals in detail during that week, so please
please please get those reservations in soon....please. The brochure and
registration form are attached, please make as many copies as you need. And if
your name is NOT on the list and you plan to attend, get us the registration
form ASAP...please.
Dr. Chris Fleming, head of the ophthalmology department at UTHSC will be our
featured speaker. He along with several other prominent medical partners in
HEI will lead tours and make presentations. We will also hear from patients
(sight and hopefully, hearing). Eileen Smith from University of Memphis
audiology will also speak about the hearing side of things on Friday evening.
We'ver got the ever-funny and magically entertaining Brian Staron on Friday
night as well. I know we ask a lot of you and your time, but it will be pretty
embarrassing to have these prominent people give up their weekend for us, and
for us to be on the short side of attendance.
We're starting the LLW program at 5 pm on Friday to give people a couple of
extra hours to get here.
This weekend is critical to your ability to provide sight and hearing care to
those in need from your area. I will be sending emails to everyone on my Lions
list later today. Please take a few minutes to share the INVITATION part of
this with everyone on your Lions list as well.

things, nor the MIRACLES of Mid-South without YOU!
