you've punched in your sections or record them in a chain first right? Just checking!! Make sure also when you are on that f3 screen, press the enter button good and the same for the increase/yes button when you execute to convert!! It usually doesn't act funny like that, but if it does! just try it again press the buttons good!! holla!!

Ug, I have no idea what I'm doing or not doing that's different than what I've done before. I go into pattern chain mode, then edit, then press F3, arrow up and left loads, make sure I'm where I need to be on the screen, then enter the song number I need to use, press enter and then yes. It acts like it's going to do it, but then when I check it out, I can't find it in song mode. What am I missing?
