The Detroit Chapter of the American Statistical Association, Oakland University and the ASA Travelling Course Committee are sponsoring a half-day short course, "Regression Modeling Strategies", taught by Frank Harrell, Jr., PhD. The class will be held in the Oakland Center Building at Oakland University on Friday, May 12; check-in and a buffet luncheon begin at noon, with the class itself from 1-5 PM. You can download the course description and registration form from the MSUG website, http://www.misug.org. This "traveling course" (TC) sponsorship is awarded competitively through the national American Statistical Association (ASA). The course is also sponsored by the Detroit Chapter of the American Statistical Association (DCASA). Because of ASA and DCASA subsidies, we are able to offer this course at very attractive prices (especially for certified full-time students). The last such ASA TC was held at Wayne State University in 2001. This TC will be held at Oakland University, on Friday May 12, 2006. We have a very highly-qualified speaker, a topic of wide interest in statistics, and an attractively low price (including buffet lunch and afternoon refreshments). You will also have a chance to meet other statistical practitioners and professionals who live and work in and around the Detroit area. Please refer to the MSUG download for full course details, and registration and payment procedure. Feel free to contact me with any TC questions. Registration is filling quickly, and may close sooner than anticipated! ... Lance. Chapter Representative Detroit Chapter of the American Statistical Association (DCASA) Lance K.
