One of our new subscribers, Jonathan G., applied his graphic design talents to
the photo I had tossed up on the server as the front door greeting for new
folks. Check out his work:

Thanks Jonathan! Very nice. I love the use of the map!

(True confession... I didn't take the Tricolor Heron Photo in Mississippi.
Sorry. I was visiting family in Baton Rouge and that shot is from the lake at
LSU.)

We've got 8 subscribers now. Not bad for the first couple of days.  Of course
the goal is not to have a big group - just to enjoy each other's photos, teach
each other a bit, and have fun.

Given that I'm new to MS, this will be my first spring migration here. In my
dreams I'll get some photos of warblers that are only seen passing through.
Last spring I was living in the Chicago suburbs and had one brief but indelible
look at a Blackburnian Warbler (I was out with a bunch of students doing a
water quality assessment and had no camera with me). So my "holy grail" is a
good shot of a BLWA.  If any of you have any advice on locations in the
Jackson/Vicksburg area or techniques you prefer during spring migration,
particularly for wobblers,  I'd love to hear them.

Stuck inside writing an exam today - I hope some of you get out and get some
good pictures you can share with us.

-Frank
