I went to find the Hooded warbler this evening after being out of town all week, and a White-eyed vireo made an appearance. (The warbler showed up, too.) I was pretty excited to get a good look at the vireo; they seem to be quite shy and stay in thick brush. I managed to catch him "singing." (If you've ever heard one sing, you'll know why I used quotes; it's a pretty non melodic affair.)
