Dear Birders,
We (members of the Oktibbeha Audubon Society's birdwalk yesterday) got good
looks at a marked Turkey Vulture. It had an orange tag on the front margin
of the wing about halfway across the wingspan. The bird was soaring, and
we could not read any numbers or text that may be on the tag. I saw the
bird again today, and it was perched at more than 150 yards, so all I can
see is the bright neon orange tag.
I wanted to report it in case the researchers who placed the tags watch
these list services.
If it is not top secret, we would love to hear about the project in which
TVs are being monitored.
