Hey Missbird,
Kristina and I decided to go look at the shorebirds from the observation tower
and the floodway levee road at Coldwater River National Wildlife Refuge today.
The shorebird habitat is still there and it is still holding quite a few
shorebirds. Nothing to add to the list of what was seen on Friday other than a
couple of Western Sandpipers. The Semipalmated Plovers were quite comical
chasing each other around and posturing over claimed mud puddles. The most
notable bird of the day was NEOTROPIC CORMORANT. There were no less than 8
present and 7 of them were perched together on a partially submerged snag.
These were all viewed from the tower.
