51A WCRF is seeking applications for dedicated research intern & GIS
students who can work proactively in Western Himalayas
* Job Opportunities: - 1- Research Interns – (2)- Forest Bird survey and
mapping of Vulture Nests *
Qualification & project outline
• B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Wildlife Sciences/ Environmental
sciences/Forestry or any other related discipline having 60% or above score.
• Must have 1-3 months of prior field experience
• Readiness to adapt in the field with nominal resources
• Proactive in identification of Forest Birds
• Must be organised & follow project timeline
• Competent writing skills
*GIS Interns – (2) *
Qualification & Project outline
• graduate with a degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Remote
Sensing, or a related field with 60% or above score.
• Knowledge about Remote Sensing and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS,
ERDAS Imagine, Fragstats) for image processing and analysis.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as
part of a team.
• Collect, process, and analyze satellite imagery and other geospatial
data to make boundary maps
• Proficiency with GIS tools and techniques to make Forest classification
maps • Must have 1-3 months of prior field experience
• Readiness to adapt in field with nominal resources
• Must be organised & follow project timeline
*Project Location- Shimla *
*Stipend - Will be according to the qualification and earlier work
experience in similar Projects *
